On December 6, 2014, after battling a long illness, Our Lord embraced Daniel Chavez into His Divine Arms and called him Home. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Juan Chavez Jr. and Gloria Guajardo (Chavez) on October 22, 1970. Daniel, whom many knew as "Pelon" is survived by his parents: Juan, Jr. and Gloria Chavez; his children: Juan Vincent Chavez and Spirit Rain Chavez; Brothers: Carlos Chavez (Brenda), Joel Chavez (Samantha); Sisters: Sylvia Chavez-Salinas (Carlos Ruben), Paulita Rayas (Jose Ignacio) and many extended relatives and friends that will forever cherish the memories left behind. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mr. Juan Chavez, Sr. The family will gather on December 10, 2014 at St. Frances X. Cabrini from 4:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. On Thursday, December 11, 2014 the family will gather at the church at 9:00 A.M. to receive family and friends and then celebrate a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Burial Park.
