Mr. Ismael "Smitty" Garza, age 62, of Pleasanton, Texas entered Our Lord's Presence surrounded by family and loved ones on November 18, 2014. . He was born in Pleasanton to Mariano Garza and Elena Leal (Garza) on June 19, 1952. Smitty, as he was known by many, is survived by his children: Ismael Garza Jr. (Wife Bonnie), Joe Raymond Garza (Wife Jessica), Leo Hernandez, Ginalee Briseno (Husband Mario), Cherokee Rodriguez (husband Jamie); Siblings: Narciso Garza Sr. (Wife Frances), Jesse Garza (Wife Maggie), Mariano Garza Jr. (Wife Lutheria), Jose Maria Garza (Wife Lena), Manuel Garza (Wife Melinda), Margie Gutierrez, Stella Talamantez, Melinda Hacket (Husband Edward), Nine Grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Alfredo Garza and Johnny Garza; brothers in law: Manuel Gutierrez and Camillo Talamantez. The family will gather at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church for Visitation on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday November 22, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Leal Cemetery in Pleasanton, Texas.
