On Thursday June 19, 2025, Janie R Amador stepped into the Eternity promised by Our Lord Jesus Christ, along with her beloved husband Antonio C Amador and parents; Sylvestra and Facundo Ruelas welcomed her with open arms. Janie is survived by her beloved daughters Yolanda A Valadez (Raymond); Alicia A Hinojos (beautiful caregiver); Mary Ann Terrazas (Manuel), Sister Mary R. Rodarte (Luis), Brothers: Juan N. Ruelas, Gilbert N. Ruelas; Grandchildren: Jessica Marie Garcia (Albert), John Anthony Fernandez (Jamie), Lucinda Deanda (Alex), Kristy Ann Hinojos, Cassandra Hinojos (Doris Flores), Anjelica Gutierrez, Taylor Ann Noel Terrazas, Sarah Janie Terrazas; Great Grandchildren: Kaylee Reighlynn Garcia, Xavier Sergio Ramon Garcia, Noah James Fernandez, Levi Jentezen Fernandez, Daniella Nicole Jacobs (Richard), Harvey Enrique Hinojos, Eric Ramirez, Dezeray Alize Hinojos, Tonyray Amador Hinojos, Jacob Antonio Gutierrez, Mariah Nicole Gutierrez, Katelynn Marie Gutierrez, Isaiah Amador Gutierrez; Great Great Grandchildren: Ezekiel Calendario Barron, Vanellope Luna Garza along with many friends and relatives that will forever cherish the memories and the legacy Janie leaves behind.
She was born in Waco, Texas on March 8, 1938, to Facundo and Silvestra (Nunez) Ruelas. Daughter to a family of migrant workers, Janie possessed the character of a hard-working woman who desired to pass that legacy on to her children and grandchildren. She held strong family values that rooted from a strong mother who taught her the value of hard work, strong diligence and admiring tenacity. Janie resided for years alongside her love, Tony, in San Angelo, Texas. She retired from Levi Strauss and enjoyed every possible moment among her family and friends enjoying music and cherishing every great moment.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Juan Ruelas, siblings: Francisca Ruelas, Enedina Ruelas, Nicolas Ruelas Sr., Adolfo Ruelas, Facundo Ruelas Jr., Gregorio Ruelas Sr., Josefina R. Velasquez and Jesus Ruelas Sr.
Janie was kind, generous, loved sewing, music, dancing and bingo. She will be missed by all who knew her. She will be at the great banquet Jesus Christ is preparing for us all, what a time of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Methodist Hospice for every kind gesture and helping keep Janie comfortable in her final moments and she made her way to meet Her Savior.
The family will gather at the Grace Countryside Funeral Home on June 26, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M. Graveside Service will be on June 27, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
