Joe Cantu age 75 of Charlotte, Texas died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 26, 2024. He was born on October 21, 1948, to Domingo and Jesusa Cantu.

Joe was a good friend to many. He worked at an early age and continued working to provide for his family. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Cantu; daughters, Maria Garza (Boy Garza) and Josie Flores (Craig Flores Sr.) He so loved his grandchildren: Victoria Garza, Fabian Garza (Emma), Joey Garza (Natalie), Gabi Ruiz, Craig Flores Jr., Miracle Flores and Marcos Flores; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; siblings: Elena De Leon (Roman) from Charlotte, Gloria Gonzales (Lupe) from Alvin, Texas, Domingo Cantu Sr. (Linda), Andres Cantu, Ray Cantu, Jesse Cantu (Henrietta), Carlos Cantu (Simona) all from Charlotte, Texas, Juan Cantu from San Antonio, Texas, Lucy Cantu from Pleasanton, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Domingo and Jesusa Cantu, Maria "Dadi" Cantu, daughter Anita Cantu, his siblings: Francisco Cantu, Bobby Cantu and Rosa Cantu.

The family will begin receiving friends and relatives at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church – Charlotte, Texas on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M.

The family will gather for a Mass of Resurrection on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Charlotte Community Cemetery.
