Obituary

Juan Valdez Viagran went to be with his Lord Friday, April 13, 2018 at the age of 87 years.  Juan  is survived by his wife of 66 years Guadalupe Uriegas Viagran, children Irma Cerda (Roland), Lupe Guerra (Dan), Sylvia Viagran Garcia (Ralph), Nancy Viagran (Jose). Grandchildren; Dayna Guerra-Leal (Hosea), Roland Cerda Jr. (Richard), Adrienne Flores (Max), Robert Cerda (Elida), Michele Hesler (Stephen), Greg Garcia II (Janice) and Christopher Viagran.  Greatgrandchildren; Alyson, Samantha, Erin, Sebastian, Dominick, Gavin, Brian, Lola, Preston, Madison, Riley, Annabeth and Isabella.  And many nieces and nephews.   At 17 years old he enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours in the Korean War.  When he returned he then began a civil service career at Kelly Air Force Base where he worked for 33 years.  He enjoyed his 30 years of retirement working on lawn mowers and working on his lawn.  You would find him either outside working on one thing or another or fighting with the many animals we had around throughout the years.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Juan loved telling stories and going to eat at Santana's for breakfast almost every morning or at Luby's for lunch.  In the evening he would be inside watching Old Western movies until he fell asleep.  ! ! Service: A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at El Carmen Catholic Church 18555 Leal Rd. San Antonio, TX 78221. Viewing will be from 9:00am - 11:00am.  Rosary from 11:00am - 12:00pm with a Mass beginning at 1:00pm and the burial to follow.  A reception will be held at Pipo's Lounge after the funeral services.
