Roberto Hernandez Villarreal ( aka Popo) was born September 25,1947 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. He went home to his Lord and Savior on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12,2019 while in the MICU at Audie Murphy VA Hospital. He is preceded in death by his father, Pioquinto Villarreal, his mother, Elida Hernandez Villarreal, his brother Alfredo Villarreal and his nephew, David Olivo. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Garcia Villarreal, his daughters,Katherine Villarreal and Melanie Acosta, his grandchildren, Madeleine Villarreal, Trinity Villarreal Longoria and Connar Villarreal Longoria. His sisters, Mary Olivo, Gloria Almendarez, Elida Guerrero, Julie Garcia. His compadres, Dr Philip and Dr Elaine Brown and his Godsons Jason and Kyle Brown and many cousins, nieces,nephews and friends. Robert served his country in the Army and was a Sergeant of the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He came to the United States as a small child where he helped support his family as a migrant farm worker. He met his beautiful wife Mary Helen Garcia in Victoria, Texas. They were married over 50 years. He was dedicated to his family and never met a stranger. His smile and crazy jokes will be missed tremendously.
